Overview

The Mason County Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) is a federally designated 501(c)3 non-profit organization that is the most important link between local businesses and visitors to MasonCounty. One of the CVB's most important tasks is to promote Mason County by informing visitors about our area's unique attractions, notable cultural heritage, recreational facilities, great shopping opportunities, and outstanding services.

The CVB also provides a link between the local tourismindustry and the West Virginia Division of Tourism.  Regular meetings between the CVB and the state tourism personnel ensure that this communication is effective and that our area of the state is properly represented.

The Mason County CVB works closely with the Mason County Tourism Committee, a group of volunteers who represent businesses, governments, the tourism industry, and area attractions. The public is invited to attend the regular meetings of the Tourism Committee. For more information, please contact the CVB.

Get Involved!

The Mason County CVB is always looking for volunteers to join us in promoting Mason County and all that it has to offer. Volunteers contributed over 1300 hours to tourism in 2007 and we have set a goal to double volunteer participation in 2008. As a volunteer, you may perform tasks such as answering phones, greeting visitors and providing them with information, stuffing envelopes, leading bus tours, leading tours at Fort Randolph, or helping out at any of our other local attractions. Please contact Twila Clark about volunteer opportunities by calling (304) 675-6788.

 Twila Clark, Assistant Director

Although Twila was born and raised in Braxton County, West Virginia, she has called Point Pleasant home for over thirty years. She is a graduate of Burnsville High School (class of '64) in Burnsville, West Virginia.

Over the years, Twila has been active in many groups, but her involvement with the Mason County Fair, Gallia-Mason Stepping Stones, and as a teacher at a ladies' Bible class are the causes for which she feels the most pride.

Twila came to the Mason County CVB as an AmeriCorps*VISTA in February 2004 and she became the Assistant Director of the CVB in August 2005. In her spare time, Twila enjoys reading, stamp collecting, and frequenting auctions. She resides in Point Pleasant with her husband, Roger, and cat, Baby.
